Buenos Aires' provocative Asian-fusion sensation Niño Gordo has officially arrived in Miami, opening its first-ever international location in the heart of Wynwood. The new outpost marks a bold step forward for chefs Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña, whose signature mashup of Argentine fire cooking and high-voltage Asian flavors earned the original restaurant a coveted spot on Latin America’s 50 Best (#34).

From the moment guests enter, Niño Gordo Miami doesn’t just recreate the Buenos Aires experience—it amplifies it. Set inside a 74-seat space that plays out like a living comic book, the design pulses with energy: red lights, mirrored rooms, and a towering mural by Argentine artist Ever Siempre that dwarfs its Palermo counterpart. Each section of the restaurant offers a different mood, guiding diners through a labyrinth of immersive atmospheres built for discovery.
The menu continues the brand’s signature fusion of Argentine grilling with Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian influences—but with a distinctly Miami twist. Dishes like the cult-favorite Katsu Sando on shokupan with beef and Japanese mayo return, while new plates like Hamachi with bell pepper and enoki, Veal + Squid Dumplings in coconut curry yogurt, and Peking-Style Duck with bok choy and hoisin crepe reflect both the chefs’ global travels and South Florida’s vibrant palate.

In true Niño Gordo fashion, the cocktail program doesn’t play it safe. Beverage curator Christine Wiseman has crafted two distinct experiences: one for the restaurant, and one for Dekotora—a new late-night sushi and cocktail concept inspired by Japan’s glamorized trucking culture. Expect inventive drinks like the Red Bean Old Fashioned and Papaya Salad Daiquiri, or, over at Dekotora, opt for theatrical pours like the glitter-lit Electric Midnight with Japanese whisky and curry coconut lime.

Dekotora also features a raw bar and omakase experience that leans into spectacle, from truck-inspired booths to rotating projection walls. It’s a fever dream of a drinking den where nothing is static and every visit offers something new.

Niño Gordo Miami is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to midnight at 112 NW 28th St, with Dekotora running Wednesday through Saturday until 1 a.m. Reservations are available via OpenTable or by calling 786-889-8093.
