Downtown West Palm Beach is getting a new late-night address this Friday. Sophia, a Sophia Loren-inspired disco lounge and nightclub, opens October 23 at 114 S Narcissus Avenue, for guests ages 23 and over, and it comes from Jeremiah Pitts, a West Palm Beach local. The concept sets the glamour of the Italian actress against the energy of disco, with charcoal interiors, gold accents, chandeliers, and black-and-white portraits, and a soundtrack that runs from disco classics and throwbacks to house remixes of familiar favorites.

Sophia will be open Thursday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Pitts, who is devoted to downtown's growth and its hospitality, has centered his vision for Sophia on attentive service, welcoming guests, and creating unforgettable nights. A long marble-topped bar lined with deep-red velvet barstools will run under brass pendant lights, with a backlit back bar behind it carrying Sophia's name in lettering. Beyond the bar, the venue will set VIP tables with bottle service and will take private events, birthdays, and bachelor and bachelorette celebrations.

The drink menu will run on craft cocktails alongside a full zero-proof cocktail list. Sophia will not serve its own food; instead, exclusive partnerships with local favorites will deliver food to guests at the venue. Reservations for bottle service and cocktail service are available through Sophia's website, and walk-ins are welcome.

The early hours will go to cocktails, zero-proof drinks, and conversation at the marble bar, with throwbacks playing in a relaxed atmosphere. Around 11 p.m. the music will turn more energetic as the disco and house remixes take over and the room shifts toward dancing and a late-night atmosphere. From there the dance floor will run until 3 a.m.
