Acre Resort brings a new chapter to the Baja escape

Acre Resort is reshaping the Baja getaway with a 25-acre sanctuary carved into the rolling hills of Ánimas Bajas, where desert landscapes collide with lush palm groves, organic farmland, and design-driven hospitality that feels unlike anywhere else in Los Cabos. Just minutes from San José del Cabo, the boutique retreat has become a magnet for travelers drawn to sustainability, standout culinary talent, and immersive, nature-forward living.

Across the property’s jungle canopy and sculpted desert terrain, accommodations range from elevated Treehouses tucked into palms to contemporary Villas and Haciendas with rooftop terraces, private plunge pools, and sweeping views of the fields below. Acre’s agricultural footprint fuels the entire experience—its sprawling farm supplies the Michelin Green Star–winning Acre Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, widely recognized as one of Mexico’s most compelling dining destinations.

At the center of that culinary identity, Acre Restaurant blends global technique with Baja flavor in an open-air setting framed by lantern-lit palms. Dishes spotlight ingredients grown steps away, paired with craft cocktails and pours from the resort’s award-winning La Tierra de Acre mezcal. Guests can also grab casual bites at Fausto’s Diner or sample tequila and mezcal flights at Colibrí Cantina, a garden-framed hideaway filled with local art and color.

This November marks a major evolution with the debut of Rūstico—Acre’s new hybrid restaurant and events venue taking shape in the heart of its circular garden. Designed as both a nightly gathering spot and a destination for private celebrations, Rūstico will feature prix-fixe menus inspired by what’s growing around it and a cocktail program rooted in herbal, seasonal flavors. To launch the space, Rūstico will host three pop-up winemaker dinners with Monte Xanic (Nov. 5), Bodega Los Cedros (Nov. 10), and La Lomita (Nov. 17), bringing some of Mexico’s top wineries to the farm.

Beyond the table, Acre’s experiential programming brings the property to life. Visitors can book everything from pottery, jewelry making, and painting at Acre Academy to mezcal tastings, cooking classes, and daily yoga in the mango orchard.

The jungle pool and pickleball courts add a relaxed, athletic layer to the stay, while the resort’s most charming feature may be its rescued animal residents—dogs available for adoption, goats, donkeys, and peacocks roam the pathways, creating a sense of personality and community that feels uniquely Acre.
