An icon of alpine hospitality returns to San Cassiano this month as Aman Rosa Alpina reopens under the full embrace of the Aman brand. Nestled in Italy’s UNESCO-listed Dolomites, the resort has been carefully reimagined by Jean-Michel Gathy while remaining under the stewardship of the Pizzinini family, who have operated the property for three generations.

The transformation marks a new chapter for the historic retreat, which now features 51 redesigned rooms and suites, including two expansive Aman Suites and an updated Chalet Zeno configured as a two-suite private residence. Throughout the property, Gathy’s architectural approach highlights elemental materials—wood, stone, blackened steel—while introducing new spatial drama, such as the soaring double-height arrival lounge and a sculptural central bar.
The resort’s wellness program has expanded significantly with the introduction of a full Aman Spa. The facility includes three pools—two indoors and one outdoor—a Jacuzzi, a hammam, and treatment rooms offering therapies inspired by the surrounding alpine landscape.

Guests will now find three private cinemas, age-specific games rooms, and a refined ski lounge equipped with heated boot racks and equipment services. The property’s connection to the Dolomiti Superski network allows direct access to more than 1,200 kilometers of seasonal terrain, while summer months will offer guided hiking, climbing, and biking experiences.
Aman Rosa Alpina’s culinary direction includes several new venues: an Italian grill, a breakfast room with live cooking, an all-day lounge, a cigar and spirits lounge, and a private wine library for tastings and events. A Japanese dining concept is scheduled to open during the 2025–2026 winter season, rounding out a year-round offering rooted in place but global in influence.

Though the resort now carries Aman’s full branding, it remains a deeply personal project. The Pizzinini family continues to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the character and legacy of the original Rosa Alpina are not only preserved but expanded upon.
The resort will operate this year from July 24 through October 12, 2025, for its summer season, and reopen for winter beginning December 4, 2025.
