Andaz debuts first property in Portugal

Andaz has entered Portugal with the opening of Andaz Lisbon, bringing the Hyatt lifestyle brand into the heart of the capital’s historic Baixa district. Set along Rua do Comércio with views toward Praça do Comércio and the Tagus River, the hotel positions itself within one of Lisbon’s most architecturally and culturally significant corridors.

The property introduces 170 rooms and suites, with interiors by Studio Urquiola that reinterpret the city’s material and artistic heritage through a contemporary lens. Traditional elements such as azulejos tiles and calçada Portuguesa are reworked alongside cork, stone, and wood finishes, creating a layered design language rooted in place. Guestrooms pair these references with integrated in-room technology and Byredo bath products.

Throughout the property, a curated art program referencing Lisbon’s creative community reinforces the brand’s emphasis on storytelling through design.

Dining at the property centers around two distinct concepts that connect local culture with broader culinary narratives. Luzzi, the rooftop restaurant and terrace, explores Portugal’s historic influence on global cuisine, while Andaz Lounge draws from Lisbon’s street culture, reinterpreting traditional Portuguese dishes inspired by the city’s kiosk cafés in a more informal, social setting. The hotel's dining venues also incorporate live music, spanning from traditional Fado to contemporary genres.

Wellness is anchored by a fitness center equipped with Technogym equipment, with additional programming extending to in-room spa treatments. A dedicated spa is also planned, expected to introduce a more comprehensive offering focused on restoration and relaxation in a future phase of the hotel’s evolution.
