Aspen One unveils its first East Coast Limelight Hotel

Aspen One is bringing its acclaimed Limelight Hotels brand to the East Coast for the first time. The company announced plans to open Limelight Charleston, a hotel and residential project set to debut in 2028, marking a milestone expansion for a brand known for its dynamic presence in mountain and urban destinations alike.

The move comes amid rapid growth for Limelight Hotels, which has evolved from three open properties in early 2023 to a portfolio that will include seven open or in-development locations across the country. Following recent launches in Snowmass, Denver, and Ketchum—and upcoming openings in Boulder and Mammoth—Charleston will introduce the brand’s signature blend of design-forward hospitality, local connection, and laid-back energy to one of the South’s most beloved cultural hubs.

Developed in partnership with Category Company, the Charleston location will pair a boutique hotel with private branded residences and immersive social spaces—including a rooftop pool, restaurant, and the signature Limelight “living room,” designed as a gathering space for guests and locals. The project is set within the city’s historic district and aims to reflect the charm and rhythm of Charleston while offering a fresh, modern take on Southern hospitality.

“This is a milestone moment for Limelight,” said Jeff Toscano, CEO of Aspen Hospitality. “Charleston is a city rich in culture and creativity, and this new location continues our commitment to thoughtfully expanding the brand into America’s most exciting destinations.”

Daniel Pourbaba, Founder and CEO of Category Company, added: “We’re proud to partner with Aspen Hospitality to create a property that both honors Charleston’s architectural heritage and offers something truly new for the city.”

As Aspen One continues to redefine destination-driven hospitality through its expanding portfolio—including The Little Nell, Aspen Collection, and its four-mountain ski experience in Colorado—the upcoming Limelight Charleston reflects a broader vision of experiential luxury, design integrity, and lasting community connection.
