Naples’ longtime Naples Grande Golf Club has officially entered a new chapter, reintroducing itself as CAVU Golf Club and transitioning to a fully private membership model following a sweeping renovation of the course and clubhouse.

Located minutes from downtown Naples, the club has long been considered one of Southwest Florida’s most compelling tests of golf. The par-72 championship course was originally designed by renowned architect Rees Jones and is known for its elevation changes, water features, and fairways framed by native Florida vegetation. A recently completed renovation led by golf course architect Beau Welling refined the layout while preserving Jones’ original design philosophy, improving playability across all skill levels while enhancing conditioning and overall course flow.

The transformation also included a comprehensive redesign of the clubhouse by Wegman Design Group, creating a more refined setting for dining, social gatherings, and daily member use.

Previously operating under a semi-private model connected to the nearby Naples Grande Beach Resort, the club’s shift to fully private membership is designed to prioritize access, pace of play, and overall course quality for members. At the same time, members will continue to enjoy access to the resort’s broader amenities, creating a rare combination of private-club golf and luxury coastal hospitality.

The new name, CAVU, comes from an aviation term meaning “clear ahead visibility unlimited,” symbolizing steady momentum and forward progress — a fitting signal of the club’s next phase as one of Naples’ newest fully private golf destinations.
