Extell Development has filed plans for a residential tower on Manhattan's Upper West Side that would stand taller than anything around it. At 86 stories and 1,198 feet, 80 West 67th Street would become the neighborhood's tallest building, rising on the former ABC campus in Lincoln Square.
The tower would climb the east side of Columbus Avenue between West 66th and West 67th Streets, on a site previously known as 77 West 66th Street. Permits filed in the spring outline more than 1.2 million square feet holding 430 residences, generously scaled at an average of roughly 2,766 square feet each, alongside ground-floor commercial space and a 187-car garage across two below-grade levels.
The developer is Extell, the Gary Barnett-led firm behind Central Park Tower, the tallest residential building in the world. Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the architect of record, with the filing listing Extell executive vice president David Rothstein as owner.
