JPMorgan Chase's new HQ will be NYC’s tallest tower fully powered by hydroelectricity

Set to become the new state-of-the-art global headquarters for JPMorgan Chase, 270 Park Avenue is a 1,388-foot, 60-story skyscraper designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners with Adamson Associates as the architect of record. Developed by Tishman Speyer, this supertall office skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space, accommodating up to 14,000 employees. It will be New York City's largest all-electric tower, completely powered by hydroelectric energy, and operate with net zero operational emissions.

The building will redefine the modern workplace with 21st-century infrastructure, smart technology, and flexible, collaborative spaces. It will also offer 2.5 times more outdoor space on the ground level, including a large public plaza on Madison Avenue with green space and amenities. The project is expected to generate over 8,000 jobs and contribute $29.8 billion annually to the city's economy, stimulating an additional 40,000 jobs.

Façade installation has reached the roof parapet of this 1,388-foot supertall headquarters, with the whole façade expected to have a surface area of 1.2 million square feet when fully installed. The building's innovative fan-column structure and triangular bracing allow it to touch the ground lightly, extending the viewpoint from Park Avenue to Madison Avenue. It will be 100% powered by renewable energy from a New York State hydroelectric plant and use state-of-the-art technology for optimal efficiency.
