La Dolce Vita Orient Express is putting golf on rails. The luxury train brand has launched two dedicated itineraries, Northern Greens and Italian Swing, pairing Italy's most celebrated courses with the slow, storied romance of grand rail travel.

Northern Greens runs four days and three nights out of Rome, tracing Northern and Central Italy through stops at Royal Park I Roveri, Franciacorta Golf Club, and The Club at Castiglion del Bosco, each course set against a different Italian landscape, from Piedmont's royal parkland to Tuscany's vineyard hills.

Italian Swing turns south instead, trading alpine greens for Mediterranean warmth with rounds at San Domenico Golf Club in Apulia, a return to Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, and Antognolla Golf in Umbria, threaded together with wellness rituals, regional gastronomy, and encounters with the art and culture along the route.

Both itineraries share one marquee stop: Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the course that hosted the 2023 Ryder Cup and remains one of the defining championship venues in Europe.

The train itself is the other half of the draw. Interiors are the work of Milan's Dimorestudio, reinterpreting the golden age of Italian rail design in rich materials and contemporary craftsmanship, with social spaces built for the unhurried pace the whole concept depends on. Three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck curates the onboard menu, moving through Italy's regional cuisines course by course as the train moves through the country itself.

The golf itineraries join La Dolce Vita Orient Express' broader collection crossing Italy, each built around the same premise: that the space between destinations is worth savoring as much as the destinations themselves.

The next Northern Greens departure is scheduled for September 29, 2026, with bookings open at orient-express.com/the-golf-collection.
