Limelight Boulder, the largest all-electric hotel in the U.S, opens

Boulder just welcomed its most anticipated arrival: the debut of Limelight Boulder, a first-of-its-kind partnership between Aspen One’s Limelight Hotels and CU Boulder. Opening its doors in the heart of campus, the new property connects students, locals, and travelers with a vibrant hub of design, dining, and discovery.

At 252 rooms, Limelight Boulder makes history as the nation’s largest all-electric hotel, combining sustainability with style. Designed by Meyer Davis and HBA San Francisco, the interiors reflect Boulder’s bold energy with rich blues, pops of yellow, and expansive mountain views. Curated art by Eaton Fine Art and sweeping event space by Bentel & Bentel—including a 15,000-square-foot ballroom—anchor the property as both a cultural and social destination.

Guests will find a mix of lively amenities and thoughtful touches: a rooftop pool overlooking the Flatirons, outdoor firepits, a game room, coworking space, and wellness-driven accommodations. Ajax Tavern brings its iconic Aspen après spirit to Boulder with signature classics like Wagyu cheeseburgers and truffle fries alongside new, locally inspired dishes. The property also introduces Crepe Therapy Café from James Beard–honored chef Mawa McQueen, marking her first expansion to the Front Range.

Programming extends well beyond the walls of the hotel. Limelight Live brings weekly performances and seasonal concerts, while Adventure Architects design custom itineraries for guests, from trail hikes to kayaking Boulder Creek—complete with luxury Audi transport. The location places visitors steps from Pearl Street Mall, Folsom Field, and more than 300 miles of surrounding trails, making it the ultimate launchpad for both football weekends and outdoor escapes.

"The opening of Limelight Boulder represents an exciting and meaningful milestone in the continued expansion and evolution of the Limelight brand, joining our growing portfolio of premium destinations," said Jeff Toscano, Aspen Hospitality CEO.

"We are so proud to be joining the Boulder community, opening our doors in collaboration with CU Boulder and welcoming guests into a stunning new space where modern design meets the area’s natural beauty. We look forward to sharing the signature warmth, sophistication, and hospitality that define Limelight, and creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through our doors.”

Built to LEED Gold standards and designed by WATG, the property also reactivates a historic corner of Boulder, uniting sustainable architecture with a modern hospitality vision. With its opening, Limelight Boulder joins the brand’s growing portfolio across Aspen, Snowmass, Ketchum, and Denver—soon expanding to Mammoth and Charleston.
