Limelight Mammoth opens as California’s all-electric retreat

Limelight Mammoth has officially arrived in the Eastern Sierra, marking Aspen One’s first California hotel and elevating Mammoth Lakes with a new all-electric, adventure-forward basecamp steps from The Village and the Village Gondola. Set against sweeping views of the Sherwins, the 149-room hotel, 25 suites, and 15 Limelight Residences debut as a polished, design-conscious retreat built for year-round mountain living.

The Residences take things even higher with two- to five-bedroom, fully furnished private homes featuring open layouts, chef’s kitchens, laundry rooms, generous storage, and direct elevator access—offering a true home-base for long stays in the Sierra.

Limelight Mammoth also introduces the region’s newest members-only community: the Mammoth Lakes Mountain Club. Inspired by Aspen’s iconic private clubs, the new retreat delivers a private lounge, outdoor terrace, all-day bar, workspaces, ski valet, lockers, dedicated parking, fitness and pool access, and a curated calendar of year-round experiences—paired with unmatched proximity to the mountain.

A sustainability-first approach sits at the center of the project. As an all-electric hotel powered by high-efficiency heat pumps, Limelight Mammoth dramatically reduces emissions while preparing to naturally green further as California’s grid expands its renewable energy mix. Reclaimed materials, native landscaping, EV charging, and an electric Audi guest fleet reinforce Aspen One’s deep climate leadership.

With the 2025–26 season underway, the hotel places guests moments from California’s highest lift-served summit and the best of Mammoth’s outdoor culture—from skiing and snowboarding to summer hiking, biking, and gondola rides. The Village at Mammoth sits just outside the front door, offering easy access to dining, shops, and events throughout the year.

Inside, the Limelight Lounge emerges as Mammoth’s new social anchor. The gathering space flows from breakfast to après to evening cocktails, serving California-meets-Italian plates, hand-stretched pizzas, and alpine-inspired drinks with panoramic mountain views. Limelight Live—featuring local musicians, rotating DJs, and special performances—sets the tone for the hotel’s opening month, including a December 12 celebration with Fitz and The Tantrums, Two Feet, and special guests.

For events, the property offers more than 8,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor venues, including the Ridgeline Ballroom for up to 300 guests and the open-air Viewline Plaza framed by Sierra peaks.

Limelight Mammoth joins the expanding Limelight Hotels collection—Aspen, Snowmass, Denver, Boulder, Ketchum, and Charleston (opening 2028)—bringing the brand’s signature approach to design, community, and adventure to one of California’s most iconic mountain destinations.
