Los Angeles’ century-old icon, Yamashiro, to debut in Miami this October

A century-old Hollywood icon is making its long-awaited debut on the East Coast. Boulevard Hospitality Group is introducing Yamashiro Miami, the first-ever expansion of the legendary Los Angeles restaurant founded in 1914. Perched atop the ninth floor of Gale Miami Hotel & Residences, the new 9,000-square-foot rooftop restaurant will open on October 29, delivering skyline views and a refined interpretation of Japanese cuisine inspired by Miami’s vibrant culinary spirit.

Helmed by Partner and Chef Charbel Hayek, winner of Top Chef Middle East & North Africa, alongside Executive Chef Gustavo Montes, Yamashiro Miami reimagines the brand’s signature fusion of tradition and innovation. The menu highlights artfully plated sashimi, robata-grilled mains, and inventive dishes such as ‘JFC’ Japanese Fried Chicken tossed in gochujang buffalo sauce, Wagyu Tomahawk with bone marrow teriyaki, Iberico Pork marinated in black garlic mojo, and Chilean Seabass in fragrant mandarin dashi.

The restaurant’s design evokes a Japanese mountain palace—echoing its Hollywood counterpart—with reclaimed wood, stone, koi ponds, and bonsai trees framing panoramic city views. At its center stands a replica of the iconic Yamashiro temple bar, where the beverage program merges Japanese precision with Miami’s tropical flair. Cocktails such as the Samurai Negroni and Dragon Pearls incorporate rare Japanese ingredients, while an immersive Sakura Bloom Tea Ritual and tableside martini cart elevate the experience with theatrical craftsmanship.

Beyond its culinary offering, Yamashiro Miami will host live music, DJs, and cultural performances, creating an atmosphere that fuses Japanese tradition with Miami’s dynamic energy. Located near Miami Worldcenter, the rooftop destination reflects Boulevard Hospitality Group’s continued expansion in South Florida, with additional nightlife concepts—The 400 Club and a private speakeasy—set to open later this year within the Gale.
