Nashville's first-of-its-kind modern and elevated nightclub, Night We Met, is set to open later this month in the Gulch with plans to be the flagship for electronic music

Music City is about to pulse with the beats of house music as Night We Met gears up to open its doors in the Gulch later this month. This new venue is setting its sights on becoming the premier destination for electronic music enthusiasts in the South and aims to be the most environmentally friendly club in the nation.

Under the guidance of Austin Knight, a well-known Nashville DJ promoter and talent buyer, and the ownership of Deep Tropics co-founders Allison and Jim Knight, Night We Met is slated for its grand opening on March 29 at its location on 114 12th Ave. N., breathing new life into the space formerly known as 12th & Porter.

Austin Knight has been a pivotal figure in nurturing the house music scene in Nashville, leveraging his experiences with Full Circle Presents and the Deep Tropics music festival. "Our Decompress party, started in 2019, laid the groundwork for a thriving house music community here, creating opportunities for talented local DJs and producers," Knight explains. The opening of Night We Met is the culmination of years of effort to provide a steadfast platform for house music in Nashville.

The venue boasts two main areas: the Club Room for high-energy nights and the Vera Lounge for more relaxed, conversational settings. Both spaces are equipped with a Void Acoustic Sound system and feature art installations that add a gallery-like ambiance, including notable pieces like the "Venus" wrought-iron face by Nimrod Messeg and a bronze amethyst sculpture by James Lomax.

Night We Met places a strong emphasis on sustainability, with mixologists Owen Gibler and Harrison Drost leading a cocktail program that prioritizes locally sourced ingredients and aims to minimize waste. The food menu, though concise, will offer selections like empanadas, reflecting the club's commitment to eco-conscious practices.

The club's zero-waste initiatives are part of its broader goal to become the greenest club in the U.S., a vision that includes comprehensive recycling and composting programs and the elimination of single-use plastics.

With artists like Kyle Watson, Lux Velour, and Mikey Lion gracing the stage, the venue is poised to offer something unique for Nashville's nightlife.

Membership options provide perks such as expedited entry, discounts on tabs and merchandise, special rates for venue rentals, and more, ensuring a VIP experience for regular patrons. The club enforces a smart-casual dress code on weekends and offers private booking options from Monday to Wednesday.

With a capacity for 354 guests and operating hours that extend into the early morning, Night We Met is dedicated to transforming Nashville's musical landscape. "After seven years of cultivating the house music scene here, we've earned the community's trust, allowing us to broaden our musical horizons," Knight states, aiming to surprise and delight both locals and visitors with this groundbreaking venue.
