NYC’s Ketchy Shuby is bringing a three-story venue to Palm Beach

A trendy New York City hotspot is heading south. Ketchy Shuby, a popular restaurant and nightlife concept from NYC, has signed on to take over the historic former Banko Cantina building at 114 S. Olive Avenue in downtown West Palm Beach. This marks Ketchy Shuby’s first Florida location and a major addition to the city’s rapidly evolving dining and nightlife scene. Expected to open in fall 2026, the new venue will span three levels of food, drinks, and entertainment, bringing a distinctly downtown New York energy to South Florida.

Ketchy Shuby’s West Palm Beach debut will transform the 13,000-square-foot building into a multi-level culinary and nightlife destination. Plans call for a ground-floor restaurant, a second-floor cocktail lounge and nightclub, and a rooftop venue. Housed in a landmark structure originally built in 1923, the space blends historic character with modern functionality, pairing a classic architectural façade with a bold, contemporary interior vision. Longtime locals may recognize the building as the former home of Banko Cantina, once known for its rooftop scene — a legacy that Ketchy Shuby is set to elevate.

The project stands out not just for its scale, but for what it signals about West Palm Beach’s momentum. At more than 13,000 square feet, it represents the largest food-and-beverage lease in Palm Beach County this year, reinforcing growing confidence in the city’s downtown core. Its arrival places Ketchy Shuby among a growing roster of high-profile restaurants helping redefine West Palm Beach as a destination for dining, nightlife, and cultural energy.

On the ground floor, the restaurant will showcase globally influenced New American cuisine, balancing classic favorites with creative, plant-based options. Designed to transition effortlessly from day to night, the dining space will set the tone for the experience before guests move upstairs. The second level will shift into a high-energy lounge and nightclub, featuring curated music, immersive lighting, and a DJ-driven nightlife atmosphere that brings the brand’s downtown roots to life. Above it all, the rooftop venue will offer an open-air setting for cocktails, social gatherings, and late-night energy under the Florida sky.

Founded in 2023 by hospitality veteran Jamie Mulholland, Ketchy Shuby quickly became a downtown Manhattan favorite. The original SoHo location gained attention for its tropical-meets-urban aesthetic, blending lush greenery, natural materials, and warm lighting with a nightlife-forward layout that evolves throughout the evening. By day, the space functions as a vibrant restaurant and social hub; by night, it transforms into a pulsing lounge fueled by DJs and a globally inspired soundtrack.

The brand’s identity draws from a mix of island energy and classic New York nightlife culture, creating a sensorial environment that feels transportive without being overdesigned. That balance has resonated strongly in New York, where Ketchy Shuby operates its flagship SoHo location alongside its seasonal Southampton outpost, Ketchy Beach.

“My team and I couldn’t be more excited to bring Ketchy Shuby to West Palm Beach,” said Mulholland. “I knew once we came across this building that it was the right home for our next chapter. The city’s energy, growth and sense of community align perfectly with what we’ve built in New York. Securing the largest food-and-beverage lease in Palm Beach County this year only adds to the excitement — it shows how much confidence we have in this market and how much potential we see in its future. We can’t wait to create something truly special here.”
