Oleada, a new oceanfront golf community, is rising in Los Cabos

A new championship golf experience is taking shape on one of the last untouched stretches of Los Cabos coastline, anchored by a signature course from Ernie Els that is set to redefine the region’s next wave of luxury development.

Oleada Golf Links introduces an 18-hole, links-style course—Els’ first-ever design in Mexico—unfolding across windswept dunes and sandy ridgelines at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, where sweeping Pacific Ocean views and dramatic elevation shifts shape a routing that follows the land’s natural contours rather than forcing it.

Built with a minimalist approach, the course leans into rolling terrain and organic movement, delivering a layout that is both visually striking and playable across skill levels, supported by elevated comfort stations, a large-scale practice facility, one of the most expansive clubhouses in Los Cabos, a fine dining restaurant, and full-service golf concierge programming; preview play is scheduled for July ahead of a November 2026 opening.

The course serves as the centerpiece of Oleada Los Cabos, an 860-acre oceanfront community positioned as one of the final large-scale coastal developments in the region, where newly introduced Pacific Villa residences bring together architecture by Victor Legorreta and interiors by Uribe Krayer, blending modern Mexican design with locally sourced materials, natural textures, and framed ocean views; the three- to four-bedroom, single-story homes prioritize indoor-outdoor living and start at $2.9 million, with ownership tied directly into the club experience through priority tee times, private events, and concierge services.

At the heart of the master plan, El Corazón will anchor the community with dining, gathering spaces, and a custom ceramic installation by Adán Paredes, alongside a broader amenity program that includes private beach access, nature trails, outdoor fitness and yoga spaces, wellness facilities, gardens and orchards, retail, and two incoming luxury hotels—Grand Hyatt Los Cabos opening in late 2026 and Conrad Los Cabos expected in 2027.

Just minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, within reach of Todos Santos, and roughly 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport, Oleada is emerging as a fully integrated destination where golf, design, wellness, and hospitality converge into one of the most ambitious new coastal communities in Mexico.
