Omicron Hotels, the family-owned Cretan group founded by twin brothers in 1991, is marking its biggest season yet, with a new villa retreat opening this summer and expansions across two of its existing properties. Brothers Ioannis and Nikos Orfanakis have built a portfolio that now spans Acro Suites, MOMI Slow Living, Seaside A Lifestyle Resort and the new Tierras Villas. The founders' daughters, Danae and Konstantina Orfanake, now lead the group's creative and wellness direction.
The headline opening is Tierras Villas, debuting in July 2026 on Mononaftis beach, near Agia Pelagia. Designed by Manos Kipritidis, the five-villa retreat follows the contours of the hillside in pale stone, raw wood and earthy tones. Each villa is named after a natural element — Roē for water, Phos for light, Ryāki for fire, Terra for earth and Anemi for air — and built around indoor-outdoor living, with a private pool, terrace and sea views. The experience centers on chef-led dining with daily breakfast, foraging excursions and in-villa wellness treatments. Guests also have access to the Bath House Spa at neighboring Acro Suites.
MOMI Slow Living, the group's boutique, adult-friendly retreat in Hersonissos, has expanded for the 2026 season, adding 30 rooms — 20 standard and 10 with pools — to reach 100 in total, alongside a new pool bar and an on-site nail salon. The property keeps its focus on slow living and the feel of a traditional Cretan village set among olive trees, with dining at Elia, a spa and an outdoor cinema.
Acro Suites, the cliffside, adults-only resort and a 2025 Michelin Key winner, has added Caléa, a new restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Gerardo Metta. New pickleball courts join the existing tennis and paddle courts, and a new wellness treatment house complements the Bath House, with services from Japanese-inspired scalp treatments to hydrotherapy and pilates.
Tierras, MOMI and Acro share a quiet, design-led approach built on local materials, considered spaces and a pace set by the island itself.
