Park Hyatt reaches fifty properties globally, adding its first hotel in Malaysia

Park Hyatt has made its Malaysia debut with the opening of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, located within the landmark Merdeka 118. The building, designed by Fender Katsalidis, is recognized as Asia Pacific’s tallest and the world’s second tallest skyscraper. Rising from levels 75 to 114, the 252-room hotel offers panoramic skyline views and marks the brand’s 50th property worldwide.

Guest rooms and suites are designed as private retreats, with floor-to-ceiling windows, generous living spaces, walk-in dressing rooms, and bathrooms featuring separate rain showers and aromatherapy steamers. Select accommodations include private dining spaces overlooking the city.

The interiors, crafted by G.A Group, draw inspiration from the traditional Malay Kampung house, incorporating natural timber accents, woven textures, and perforated brass screens etched with batik patterns. Throughout the property, a collection curated by Artlink features works from world-renowned artists celebrating the colors and natural forms of Malaysia, presented as a private collection of local craft and contemporary art.

Dining is anchored by three distinct venues. Merdeka Grill focuses on premium cuts, sustainable seafood, and locally sourced produce, with signature dishes prepared tableside. Park Lounge offers heritage-inspired Malaysian cuisine, an all-day menu, and an afternoon tea experience led by Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh. Cacao Mixology & Chocolate, the city’s first chocolate-themed bar, serves chocolate-infused cocktails, small batch distillery spirits, zero proof specialties, and handcrafted confections alongside live Bossa nova music.

The 99th-floor wellness area features a yoga studio, state-of-the-art fitness center, infinity pool, vitality pool, and private treatment suites. The spa is among the few in Southeast Asia to offer circadian therapies and includes a Himalayan Salt Alcove, aromatherapy steam bath, and relaxation lounge. Guests have the opportunity to create personalized bath salts using locally inspired ingredients.

Guests can also take part in a guided cultural experience through the Merdeka 118 precinct, with access to historic landmarks including Stadium Merdeka, Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, and the Merdeka Textile Museum.
