PGA National Resort has just unveiled Triple Stick Golf Club, a members-only, Pete Dye-inspired course rising on the site of its former Estates Course in Palm Beach Gardens. The design comes from Davis Love III's Love Golf Design, with a new clubhouse from Peacock + Lewis, and the course is set to open later this year within Bay Hill Estates, minutes from the main resort. The clubhouse follows.
The name is a double reference. "Triple" nods to Love's childhood nickname, Tripp, and "Stick" points to Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana, the Dye design that has long shaped Love Golf Design's own work.
Scot Sherman, Love Golf Design's lead architect, spent years working alongside Pete and Alice Dye on projects including The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. "Pete Dye's most memorable courses were defined by an eclectic individuality, holes that felt distinct yet remained unmistakably connected," said Mark Love, founder and president of Love Golf Design. "That philosophy guided our approach, resulting in a course that is strategically engaging, visually compelling and enjoyable for players of all abilities."
Rather than reshape the site, the team left the existing landform and lakes untouched and layered Dye's vocabulary on top of them: railroad tie bulkheads, angled layback walls above the waterline, vertical drywood accents worked into the bunker faces, and flat-bottomed bunkers framed by native tufted grasses. Waste areas blend sand, shell and screenings in the manner of South Florida courses from the 1960s and 70s.
The course plays to a par 70, with both nines closing on a par-5. Bimini Bermuda runs across tees, fairways and rough, with TifEagle greens.
Peacock + Lewis, the South Florida firm founded in 1961 on the Island of Palm Beach, is designing the clubhouse to sit near the driving range and short-game area. It is a dining-forward building with covered al fresco seating, a pro shop and locker rooms. "Our architectural approach blends Island and Old Florida influences to achieve an atmosphere that is elegant, airy, and welcoming," said John Lyberger, the firm's president and COO.
The project follows Henderson Park and South Street Partners' 2025 purchase of PGA National's 807-acre property, with Salamander Collection continuing to manage the resort. Current PGA National members get first access to Triple Stick, with the option to add it to an existing membership. New membership inquiries go through triplestickgolfclub.com.
Triple Stick joins a run of new private golf courses across Palm Beach County, from Panther National to Dutchman's Pipe, and NOKOSI, which is set to open soon.
