PopUp Bagels, the award-winning “Not Famous But Known®” brand, has officially opened its first Florida location at 4528 W. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa’s Westshore neighborhood. Known for bagels with crispy crusts, chewy centers, and its signature “Grip, Rip and Dip®” approach, the new shop brings the brand’s cult-favorite style south for the first time.

Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Tampa store serves hot, whole, unsliced bagels straight from the oven, accompanied by rotating schmears ranging from bold flavors like pesto butter to inventive twists on classics such as scallion cream cheese.
The Tampa debut marks a milestone moment for PopUp Bagels as it begins its Florida expansion, with roughly 30 additional locations planned across the state over the next year in cities like Orlando, West Palm Beach's CityPlace, Delray Beach, and Miami.
The shop joins a national network that started as a backyard pickup in Connecticut in 2020, quickly earning attention through two Brooklyn BagelFest wins and growing into permanent stores across New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Franchise partner Kal Gullapalli, who is leading Florida’s rollout, emphasized that the Sunshine State deserves great bagels, noting Tampa as just the beginning of a statewide wave.
This local launch comes on the heels of a much larger national strategy: PopUp Bagels recently announced agreements for 300 new franchise locations across 10 states, aiming to reach 100 open shops by the end of 2027. With regional production hubs and a pre-order model designed to guarantee peak freshness, the company is scaling fast while keeping its focus on quality. For Florida residents, it means a new bagel ritual has arrived—hot, unsliced, and ready to grip, rip, and dip—cementing Tampa as the first of many hubs for PopUp’s growing fan base.
