Sant Ambroeus plans the opening of its first-ever West Coast venue

Beverly Hills is set to welcome one of Milan’s most iconic culinary names as Sant Ambroeus prepares to open its first-ever West Coast location, marking a major expansion for the nearly century-old institution and reinforcing the city’s position as one of the most influential dining destinations in the United States.

Founded in Milan in 1936 and named after the city’s patron saint, Sant Ambroeus began as a refined all-day café and patisserie before expanding internationally, first arriving in New York’s Upper East Side in 1982. Over the decades, the brand has evolved into a globally recognized symbol of classic Italian hospitality, building a loyal following across New York, the Hamptons, Aspen, Palm Beach, and beyond, while maintaining its signature balance of elegance, tradition, and contemporary appeal.

Its upcoming Beverly Hills flagship, scheduled to debut in 2026 at the corner of Beverly Drive and Dayton Way just steps from Rodeo Drive, will be the largest Sant Ambroeus to date. The standalone space is planned to include a full indoor dining room, outdoor patio, two bars, private dining areas, and a dedicated coffee and pastry counter, continuing the brand’s café-to-restaurant identity. The menu will center on the group’s hallmark Italian classics — including house-made pastas, vitello tonnato, and cacio e pepe — complemented by seasonal California ingredients, alongside a wine program spanning both Italian and California producers.

The arrival of Sant Ambroeus reflects a broader shift underway in Beverly Hills, where globally recognized hospitality brands and acclaimed restaurateurs are increasingly choosing the city for major U.S. and West Coast debuts. Recent additions such as Marea Beverly Hills, 88 Club by Mei Lin, Pura Vida, Levain Bakery, All’Antico Vinaio, Hi Bake, and Bacio di Latte — along with upcoming openings like Azur and the relocation of Nate N’ Al’s — signal a rapidly evolving culinary landscape defined by international influence and destination-level dining.
