Shoma Group, based in Miami, has unveiled plans for its upcoming 1.146-acre project named 550 Shoma, located at 550 Mariposa Street in Downtown Orlando. The development is designed to include a 16-story tower that will house 223 rental apartments, ranging in size from 756 to 1,472 square feet. The units will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom options. Additionally, the project will feature adaptable live/work units covering approximately 1,229 square feet each.
Esteemed architecture firm Baker Barrios is responsible for the design of the tower, which aims for a blend of modern aesthetics and contemporary living spaces. The structure will also include a parking garage with capacity for 425 vehicles.
Retail and Amenities
The development is set to incorporate approximately 17,160 square feet of retail space, featuring a unique culinary and beverage hub known as Shoma Bazaar. Residents will have access to various amenities including a fitness center, yoga studio, sauna, and business center. Also available will be a co-working café, club room, media and game room, podcast studio, and a pool area complete with a summer kitchen. Pet owners will appreciate the inclusion of a dog spa. Other features include a movie theater, automated package rooms, storage units, and high-speed WiFi.
Management and Leasing
Shoma MGMT, led by Shoma Group President Stephanie Shojaee, will oversee leasing and property management. Stephanie Shojaee stated that the project is designed to offer an "unprecedented lifestyle blending style, functionality, quality, and craftsmanship," adding that Shoma Bazaar will introduce a unique dining experience to Orlando.
Expansion into Orlando Market
According to Masoud Shojaee, CEO and Chairman of Shoma Group, 550 Shoma signifies a strategic move into the Orlando market, building on the company’s previous successes in South Florida. The project is said to epitomize the developer's dedication to creating mixed-use developments that offer both luxury and essential amenities.
Project Timeline
Construction for 550 Shoma is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2024, with completion expected in 2026. It is anticipated to be a significant addition to the Orlando community, aligning with Shoma Group's track record in crafting high-value mixed-use developments.
