Downtown St. Pete’s skyline is about to get a new crown jewel. Rising 515 feet above Central Avenue, the 46-story Residences at 400 Central is steadily approaching completion—and when finished, it will be the tallest residential building on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
With its shimmering glass façade nearly sealed and interior construction advancing quickly, 400 Central is on track to welcome its first residents in the coming months. The tower is already transforming the streetscape, bringing not just high-rise living, but new energy to Central Avenue with retail tenants beginning to move in.

Leading the way is Volta Wine + Market, the first announced ground-floor tenant. Opening in 2026, the 2,000-square-foot concept comes from local duo Zach Pace and Rachelle Tomushev, who are creating a boutique wine bar and specialty grocer powered by a Michelin-caliber wine program. Guests can expect around 250 SKUs—totaling more than 2,000 bottles—alongside sake, craft beer, pantry staples, and private tastings in a thoughtfully designed setting.

Before Volta officially debuts, its team is teasing what’s to come with noctivore, a clandestine dinner series launching October 17, 2025. Conceived with Chef Mario Brugnoli, the experience unfolds at Eat Art Love in a transformed, seductive nighttime environment and serves as a preview of Volta’s world-class approach to hospitality and brand storytelling.

Upstairs, residential offerings are taking shape with flexible floor plans and modern finishes. Highlights include the 08 and 09 layouts—both two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom homes with expansive terraces and sweeping views. Residence 09 spans 1,380 interior square feet with a 321-square-foot terrace directly off the living room, while Residence 08 offers 1,348 square feet and a terrace that runs the full length of the home, facing Mirror Lake and the historic downtown core.

Each home includes floor-to-ceiling windows, open kitchens, and spa-inspired primary suites with dual walk-in closets. Finish packages lean modern and minimal, giving buyers a clean canvas to personalize. As a new-construction tower, 400 Central also brings peace of mind—meeting the latest building codes, flood zone elevations, and energy efficiency standards.

Residents will enjoy access to a Sky Lounge Observatory on the 46th floor, a resort-style pool deck, wellness spaces, and a full-time Lifestyle Concierge. On the ground floor, the retail component is taking shape with Volta now confirmed and more announcements expected soon—adding everyday convenience and boutique charm to downtown’s newest address.
