Downtown St. Petersburg is on the verge of a major milestone as The Residences at 400 Central enters the final stages of construction. Set to become the tallest residential tower on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the 46-story development is not only transforming the city’s skyline—it’s redefining the standard for luxury urban living in St. Pete.

Developed by New York-based Red Apple Group, the project offers more than 300 residences ranging from one to four bedrooms, with prices starting from the low $1 millions. The tower has quickly become one of the city’s most anticipated addresses, designed for those seeking a walkable, connected lifestyle with access to world-class amenities and breathtaking views that stretch from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico.

Inside, residences up to the 30th floor are already taking shape with premium finishes such as European porcelain tile flooring, custom ITALKRAFT cabinetry, spa-style bathrooms, and open-concept kitchens featuring gas cooktops. Drywall installation continues to climb, now reaching the upper levels, while balcony dividers have been added to enhance privacy and maximize the dramatic vistas. The seventh floor will soon unveil a private, resort-style amenity deck complete with a pool, creating an urban sanctuary in the heart of downtown.

Beyond its interiors, 400 Central is making a bold architectural statement. Exterior work on the garage and office podium is nearly complete, with steel framing in place and finishing details underway. Retail space at street level promises to add vibrancy to the Central Avenue corridor, further anchoring the building within the city’s evolving cultural and commercial fabric.

Adding a deeply personal and artistic layer to the project, Red Apple Group has also commissioned a bronze sculpture of Albert and Jane Vondersaar—parents of Margo Catsimatidis, wife of developer John Catsimatidis Sr.—to be installed at the building’s entrance. Created by local sculptor Mark Aeling, the statue will serve as a tribute to the couple’s love for St. Pete and symbolize the building’s connection to the community it’s helping to shape.

Scheduled for move-in by the end of 2025, The Residences at 400 Central represents a pivotal moment for St. Petersburg: a vertical neighborhood with a global mindset, deeply rooted in local pride.
