St. Petersburg’s skyline is quickly transforming as 400 Central, the city’s highly anticipated luxury tower, continues its steady climb upward this September. Construction crews have now reached new vertical milestones, with the structure visibly taking shape as one of the tallest residential buildings on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
The 46-story tower, designed by Arquitectonica and developed by Red Apple Real Estate, has risen 515 feet above Central Avenue, making it the tallest building in St. Petersburg and one of the tallest on the west coast of Florida. The pace of construction this fall underscores the project’s significance not just as a residential address, but as a landmark centerpiece of the city’s downtown resurgence.
When complete, 400 Central will feature 301 condominium residences ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts, alongside penthouse homes with sweeping views of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Interiors are envisioned with floor-to-ceiling glass, modern finishes, and expansive terraces designed to maximize the surrounding skyline and waterfront panoramas.

Amenities are a core highlight of the project. Residents will enjoy a rooftop observatory on the 46th floor—the highest vantage point in the region—alongside a resort-style pool deck, state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, multipurpose entertainment spaces, and on-site concierge services. The tower will also feature ground-level retail and dining, activating Central Avenue with a blend of public and private experiences.

Beyond luxury living, 400 Central represents a broader wave of investment reshaping St. Petersburg’s urban core. Its prominent location at Central Avenue and 4th Street situates residents within walking distance of cultural institutions, dining, and the city’s thriving waterfront. The tower is poised to become a defining part of St. Petersburg’s skyline, reflecting both architectural ambition and the city’s growing reputation as a premier destination for high-end living.

At street level, 400 Central will welcome Volta Wine Market, the project’s first announced retail tenant. Curated by a Michelin-starred sommelier, the concept will feature a wide selection of fine wines alongside a boutique market experience, blending everyday convenience with culinary sophistication. Positioned at the base of the tower, Volta will activate the corner of Central Avenue with a destination that serves both residents and the surrounding community, reinforcing the project’s role as a dynamic new hub in downtown St. Petersburg.
As of September, the project’s progress is clearly visible to locals and visitors alike, with vertical construction steadily advancing floor by floor. Each stage brings the tower closer to its anticipated completion, reinforcing 400 Central’s position as one of the most significant real estate developments in Florida today.
