The Skins Game returns Black Friday with a $4M purse at Panther National

For the first time in 17 years, one of golf’s most iconic traditions is returning to the spotlight. Prime Video has announced that “The Skins Game” will officially make its comeback on Black Friday, November 28, broadcasting live from Panther National—the visionary new golf and lifestyle community in Palm Beach County co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Justin Thomas.

The star-studded field will feature Tommy Fleetwood, fresh off his 2025 FedExCup title; Justin Thomas, a 16-time PGA TOUR winner; Xander Schauffele, a two-time major champion; and Keegan Bradley, an eight-time TOUR champion. Together, they’ve collected 34 PGA TOUR victories—and they’ll compete in a reimagined format that nods to golf history while introducing new high-stakes drama for modern audiences.

The broadcast tees off at 9 a.m. ET, kicking off what Prime Video calls a “historic day of live sports,” leading into its Black Friday Football matchup and an NBA on Prime doubleheader later that day.

The format stays true to the classic “skins” structure—where each hole carries a cash value and ties roll over—but adds an inventive twist: a reverse purse. Each player begins with $1 million on the board, with fortunes rising and falling as holes are won or lost, amplifying every shot’s pressure and entertainment value.

“We’re proud to work alongside PGA TOUR Studios, Prime Video, and Propagate Content to reintroduce this iconic event,” said Chad Mumm, Co-Founder and President of Pro Shop. “By keeping the traditional format intact and adding creative twists, we’re giving fans an experience that honors the past while delivering pure, high-stakes competition.”

For Prime Video, the return of The Skins Game fits into a rapidly expanding global sports portfolio. “Partnering with PGA TOUR Studios, Pro Shop, and Propagate Content to broadcast this storied event with four of the game’s most captivating stars underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, premium sports programming,” said Charlie Neiman, Head of Sports Partnerships at Prime Video.

First introduced in 1983, The Skins Game became a Thanksgiving-weekend staple, drawing golf legends like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Fred Couples, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods. Its revival comes at a time when golf’s new generation of stars—charismatic, competitive, and globally followed—has reignited the sport’s mainstream momentum.

The Skins Game was always bigger than golf,” said Ben Silverman, CEO of Propagate Content. “It brought sports and entertainment together in a way fans hadn’t seen before. We’re thrilled to reimagine this legendary franchise for a new generation.”

Set against the backdrop of Panther National’s pristine, elevation-rich fairways, the event marks another milestone for Palm Beach County’s first new private golf community in nearly two decades. Co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Justin Thomas, the championship course is defined by bold elevation changes, island greens, and unspoiled nature preserve surroundings—an uncommon sight in South Florida. Every hole is crafted for strategy and spectacle, blending precision with risk in a layout that challenges professionals and captivates members alike.

Last November, Panther National ground on its 58,000-square-foot clubhouse designed by Max Strang, Panther National is pairing elite golf with world-class amenities, including Michelin-inspired dining, a Swiss-watch boutique, a wine tower, and a wellness-focused fitness center—cementing its status as one of the nation’s most visionary private golf communities.

“The PGA TOUR is proud to bring back the iconic Skins Game as the kickoff to the sports calendar’s biggest day of the year,” said Chris Wandell, PGA TOUR Senior Vice President of Media. “With four of our game’s biggest stars competing in this nostalgic yet modern event, fans are in for a treat.”
