A new kind of wellness destination is on the horizon for Miami’s Little River. Opening in 2025, Wild Thing is set to debut a 2,500-square-foot movement and mindfulness studio that blends Tulum-inspired aesthetics with immersive wellness programming—all within one of the city’s most creatively charged neighborhoods.
Located at 162 NW 73rd St., Wild Thing will be part of the AJ Capital-led redevelopment of Little River, a 25-acre hub just north of Little Haiti and the Miami Design District that’s fast becoming a magnet for culture, food, and forward-thinking retail. Wild Thing’s debut adds to the district’s evolution with a concept rooted in nature, sustainability, and intentional living.
Designed as a calming antidote to Miami’s high-energy pace, the space will offer hot yoga, breathwork, sound healing, niche movement modalities, and a cold plunge. Its indoor-outdoor layout—complete with lush garden areas and outdoor showers—emphasizes connection to both nature and community.
Co-founded by yoga instructor Alejandra Barraza and venture entrepreneur Brett Kernan, Wild Thing is imagined as a modern retreat for those seeking more than just a workout. The studio’s interior draws from Barraza’s deep ties to Tulum, with a raw, jungle-inspired ambiance and a firm commitment to sustainability, including a completely plastic-free environment.
“As the city becomes more fast-paced, we saw an opportunity to create something restorative and real,” said Barraza. “Wild Thing is more than a studio—it’s a space where people can connect inward and outward through intentional movement and presence.”
The founders will roll out an exclusive founding membership package ahead of the opening, offering early-bird pricing, perks, and limited-edition brand merchandise.
Once open, Wild Thing will join a thriving lineup of creative and culinary neighbors including La Natural, Sunny’s Steakhouse, éliou, Ogawa, Imperial Moto, Fooq’s, and Bar Bucce. As the neighborhood continues to evolve, Wild Thing is poised to become a key gathering place for Miami’s wellness-minded community.
