The centerpiece is a new five-story grandstand designed by Populous, replacing the 1968 building, set beside a mile-and-a-half main track and opening the infield to spectators for the first time. The first two grandstand levels opened with racing in September 2026, with the upper floors and premium spaces following in 2027, when Belmont Park hosts both the return of the Belmont Stakes and the Breeders' Cup World Championships. At full buildout the venue is planned for crowds of about 50,000 on major race days.
