Official WebsiteBlackwells Corner is a mixed-use development designed to become the long-awaited town center for Hanahan, South Carolina, in the Charleston region. The project adds six new buildings to the existing TideLine Aquatics storefront, holding more than 40,000 square feet of dining, retail, fitness studios, salons, and office space arranged around a central lawn and outdoor dining areas in a walkable, community-driven layout. Inspired by and named for Blackwells Hardware, a family-owned store that anchored the site for more than 75 years before closing in early 2025, the development is built around outdoor patios, shaded plazas, and gathering spaces intended for both everyday visits and community events such as markets, live music, and pop-ups. Shaped by a city resident survey to align with Hanahan's long-term vision, the project is led by Hanahan local Chuck Woodward with real estate representatives Michael Sivel and Jennifer Rinella, land planning by SeamonWhiteside, architecture by Bello Garris Architects, and construction by Hill Construction. Ground-breaking is set for June 2026, with a grand opening planned for fall 2027 and pre-leasing underway.
