The Breakers Employee Housing Campus is an eight-story, 155-unit apartment building planned on North Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach, Florida, developed by The Breakers Palm Beach in partnership with VDG Land Company and designed by West Palm Beach architecture firm Spina O'Rourke and Partners. Billed by city officials as Palm Beach County's first employer-based workforce housing development, the roughly 80-foot building sets aside 79 of its apartments as income-restricted workforce units and reserves the balance for the resort's seasonal, international and temporary staff. The 2.46-acre campus assembles several parcels north of downtown West Palm Beach and pairs the residential block with a swimming pool, an athletic field, a clubroom, a fitness center, a conference room and a salon, along with dedicated shuttle service carrying residents across the Intracoastal Waterway to the oceanfront resort. Employee parking occupies the southern portion of the site, which was rezoned from neighborhood commercial and open space to multifamily high-density residential to allow the plan.
