Capella Maldives is the Singapore-based Capella Hotel Group's debut in the Maldives, set on one of the four man-made Fari Islands in North Malé Atoll alongside sister properties Patina and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives. Kengo Kuma & Associates shaped the architecture around a cluster of thatched pyramid-roofed villas that trace the island's perimeter beach, with a figure-eight overwater walkway threading out to a standalone pod of stilted villas in the southern lagoon. The 57 villas and mansions sit on land and over water, each with its own infinity pool, and carry interiors by André Fu's Hong Kong studio AFSO, with landscapes by Beirut-based Vladimir Djurovic. Guest facilities centre on Auriga, Capella's signature spa, here built around flotation therapy and treatments keyed to lunar cycles, and Keveli, an oceanfront dining pavilion holding four separate restaurant concepts. A parallel collection of private residence estates offers ownership within the resort, served by the same hospitality operation.
