Conrad Athens The Ilisian is the reinvention of one of postwar Athens' defining buildings, the modernist hotel that opened on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue in 1963 and became a social landmark for the Greek capital. Redeveloped by Ionian Hotel Enterprises, a venture of TEMES and the Olayan Group, with an investment exceeding 340 million euros, the property reopens under Hilton's flagship Conrad brand with 278 guest rooms and suites, many framing views across the city toward the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill. The restoration preserves the building's celebrated marble relief facade and its horizontal modernist massing while rebuilding the interiors around contemporary luxury standards, layering multiple restaurants and bars, expansive pool decks, a destination spa and wellness floors, and event spaces scaled for the city's diplomatic and cultural calendar. The hotel forms the centerpiece of The Ilisian, a wider mixed-use district on the site pairing hospitality with branded residences, retail and public realm, positioned between the Athens Concert Hall, the Byzantine and Christian Museum and the embassy quarter.
