Dar Tantora The House Hotel takes its name from the tantora, the sundial AlUla's farmers once used to divide water and time, and occupies a cluster of historic mud-brick houses in AlUla Old Town that the Royal Commission for AlUla restored using traditional earth construction alongside modern engineering. Its 30 rooms are furnished with pieces made by local artisans from the Madrasat Addeera craft school, and the hotel keeps a deliberately low-tech, candle-lit character in step with the old town. Amenities include a rooftop pool, a spa, yoga and meditation spaces, a café and the Joontos restaurant, with the lanes and markets of the old town at the door.
