About the project

Georgia + Abbott is Holborn Group's multi-block redevelopment of downtown Vancouver, designed by Henriquez Partners Architects across interconnected sites at 501 to 595 West Georgia Street, bounded by Georgia, Seymour, Dunsmuir and Richards streets and replacing the Hudson's Bay Parkade. The mixed-use plan spans roughly three million square feet and is anchored by a 68-storey hotel tower rising about 1,034 feet, which would be the tallest building in Western Canada, with around 920 rooms, more than 70,000 square feet of conference space and a free public observation deck. Two residential towers, the taller reaching 79 storeys, carry about 1,546 homes across market condominiums and purpose-built rental housing. Henriquez drew the towers' sculpted form from the rare glass sponge reefs of the Pacific Northwest coast, and the program adds a glass-topped atrium, rooftop restaurant, outdoor pool deck and a large public plaza built around Indigenous art and gathering space. A separate 25-storey social housing tower at 388 Abbott Street adds 272 non-market homes with a child-care facility and an Indigenous art gallery at its base. The project targets net-zero operational carbon.
