About the project

King Salman International Airport is a Public Investment Fund aviation megaproject in North Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, developed by the King Salman International Airport Development Company and masterplanned by Foster + Partners across roughly 57 square kilometers to become one of the largest airports in the world. The six-runway aerotropolis absorbs the existing King Khalid International Airport terminals and adds new passenger terminals, including the 40-million-passenger Terminal 6, alongside cargo and logistics zones, hotels, offices, retail and residential districts. Planned to grow toward 100 million and ultimately 185 million passengers a year, the airport is designed around Najdi architecture and Saudi landscape motifs, with sustainability targets anchored in renewable energy, and is central to Riyadh's ambitions as a global transit and logistics hub under Vision 2030.
