About the project

King Salman International Airport is a Public Investment Fund aviation megaproject north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, masterplanned by Foster + Partners across 57 square kilometers to become one of the world's largest airports. The six-runway aerotropolis folds in the existing King Khalid International Airport and adds new passenger terminals, cargo, logistics, and residential zones, targeting 100 million passengers a year by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with a design drawing on Najdi architecture and Saudi landscape motifs.
