Laheq Island is planned as the first destination in Red Sea Global's portfolio led by private homes rather than hotels, on a roughly 400-hectare island just north of Shura in The Red Sea. Foster + Partners' masterplan wraps villas, residences and amenities around a turquoise lagoon framed by The Ring, an 800-metre structure that loops the water's edge, with a 115-berth marina carved into the shoreline, two hotels, a golf course, a souq-style village and beach clubs set among native planting. Like the rest of the destination it is designed around low-density building, protected habitats and renewable power.
