Turner Construction hired to design the Lake Eola gateway Feb 2026Orlando City Council approved a $3.9 million pre-construction agreement with Turner Construction Company in February 2026 covering the Lake Eola Gateway Entrance and a new pocket park at 30 S. Orange Avenue, a combined project estimated at $18 million and funded through $160 million in downtown tax increment revenue bonds. Turner cannot start construction until a guaranteed maximum price is agreed at a later CRA meeting.

Lake Eola Park Expansion is a City of Orlando initiative to grow and reconnect the signature downtown park at the heart of Orlando, Florida. Funded largely through Community Redevelopment Agency dollars, the plan pairs a new gateway entrance off Rosalind Avenue with a pocket park, opening the lakefront more directly to the surrounding business district. The city assembled adjacent parcels along East Central Boulevard and South Orange Avenue for the gateway, with fresh landscaping and a new fountain intended to strengthen walkability and the connection between downtown and Lake Eola.
