Official WebsiteMandarin Oriental Punta Negra opened in spring 2026 as the brand's first resort in the Balearic Islands and its third property in Spain, set on one of Mallorca's most cherished stretches of coastline in Calvià near Puerto Portals. Spread across five low-rise buildings tucked among Aleppo pines that frame uninterrupted Mediterranean views, the resort opens with 131 keys — including 26 suites and nine intimate casitas, many with private plunge pools — and two secluded coves accessible only to guests. Architecture by HKS and Madrid-based Estudio Lamela pairs with interiors by Laura Gonzalez in a soft neutral palette of natural materials and hand-placed stone, with curated works by local and international artists threading through the guestrooms, shared spaces, gardens, and terraces. The dining program is led by two of the most recognizable names in global gastronomy: Matsuhisa from Nobu Matsuhisa for Nikkei-style sushi and sashimi at sea, and Leña from Dani García as a fire-and-smoke steakhouse, joined by Jacinta (contemporary Mexican), Leppoc (Mediterranean and Levantine all-day), Sobretaula (alfresco tapas), and Thalos (Greek-inspired poolside). A seaside spa spans nine treatment cabins with couple's suites and a tea ceremony, layered over a full thermal circuit of hydro-massage pool, steam rooms, cold plunges, and aromatherapy showers — alongside two adult outdoor pools, a children's pool, an indoor pool, and a fitness centre.
