Miakka Golf Club is an invitation-only private club on 1,100 acres in Myakka City, Florida, laid out along two miles of Myakka River frontage in eastern Sarasota County. Founded by entrepreneur Steve Herrig, the eighteen-hole championship course is the work of Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design, Dana Fry and Jason Straka, with PGA Championship winner Paul Azinger. Stretching to 7,700 yards over rolling terrain rare in Florida golf, the course imports Australian Sandbelt principles in the manner of Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath, with Stadium Zoysia turf and a single-membership structure.
