Official WebsiteOn April 22, 2026, the Kansas City Royals and Hallmark Cards jointly announced the new Crown Center ballpark district — an 85-acre, $3B+ mixed-use development to rise on the site of Hallmark's current corporate headquarters. The conceptual renderings (designed by hometown architecture firm Populous) feature a downtown ballpark with a central fountain plaza, a Crown Vision scoreboard and seamless integration with reimagined Hallmark and Royals headquarters. The $1.9B stadium itself is targeted for opening day 2030, with construction beginning in early 2027; the broader district will deliver more than 20,000 construction jobs and over $2B in private investment. Notably, the 85-acre site preserves the historic Our Lady of Sorrows Parish church directly adjacent to the new ballpark.
