New Trafford is Manchester United's proposed 100,000-seat stadium — set to be the largest in the UK — in the Trafford Wharfside district beside the historic Old Trafford ground in Manchester. Designed by Foster + Partners beneath a vast solar- and rainwater-harvesting canopy hung from three 200-metre masts, it anchors an Allies & Morrison masterplan of some 15,000 new homes plus commercial, cultural, and transport uses, transforming the waterfront into a new city district for Greater Manchester.
