About the project

One Bloor West is Canada's first supertall skyscraper, an 85-storey, 308-metre tower rising at 1 Bloor Street West, the southwest corner of Yonge and Bloor on the edge of Toronto's Yorkville. Designed by Foster + Partners with Core Architects, the sculpted, tiered-glass tower is now being completed by Tridel, which took over development and sales after the original developer's receivership. The reconfigured plan holds 411 luxury condominium suites, fewer and larger homes than the earlier scheme, set above a hotel occupying the lower podium floors, with retail at the base of one of the city's busiest intersections. Tridel and leasing partner JLL are selecting a luxury hotel operator whose brand is expected to carry the residences when sales reopen to the public, with previous purchasers offered first access. Once finished, the tower will be the tallest residential building in Canada and a new landmark at the crossroads of the Bloor-Yorkville shopping district and the Yonge subway line.
