About the project

One Broadbeach is Arada's debut Queensland project, a roughly $2 billion (Australian) residential and mixed-use development on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach, directly opposite the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre with immediate access to the Gold Coast light rail and a few blocks from the beach. The scheme holds 952 one, two and three-bedroom residences across two deliberately mismatched towers. The northern tower rises 61 storeys and wears a deeper bronze palette drawn from the Gold Coast skyline; the shorter 56-storey southern tower is finished in warmer gold tones keyed to the beach. Plus Studio designed the project, replacing an earlier consented plan for identical 69-storey twins on the former Central on Broadbeach site with an asymmetric pair, and the two towers are stitched together by an arched podium wrapped in cascading planting. Rather than sealing off the block, the podium opens into a central atrium and a covered arcade of roughly 12,900 square feet of ground-floor retail and hospitality that reads as public street. Amenities include pools, spas, communal terraces, dining rooms, libraries and workspaces. Roberts Co, Arada's Australian construction arm, is the builder.
