Osaka IR Casino & Entertainment Resort

The Osaka IR is Japan's first integrated resort casino, rising on the reclaimed Yumeshima island in Osaka Bay as a roughly $10 billion megaproject led by MGM Resorts International and Japan's Orix Corporation. Anchored by a 27-storey, arc-shaped tower, the complex bundles three hotels totaling some 2,500 rooms with the country's first casino, a vast MICE and convention center, and entertainment, retail, and waterfront promenade attractions. Built by a consortium of Takenaka, Obayashi, and Shimizu, the resort is designed to be the centerpiece of Osaka's post-Expo tourism strategy and a new gateway for international visitors to western Japan.
