About the project

Six Senses Myoko is a slopeside luxury hotel and branded-residence development planned for the Suginohara slopes of Mt. Myoko in Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's most storied and snow-rich ski regions. Operated under IHG's Six Senses brand for developer Patience Capital Group, the resort pairs a 57-key alpine hotel with 21 private branded residences, all designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma in collaboration with Kume Sekkei. The wellness-focused retreat draws on Six Senses' signature sustainability and rejuvenation ethos, weaving natural timber, onsen hot-spring bathing and an expansive spa into a contemporary mountain setting framed by Myoko's legendary powder snowfall and long, scenic ski runs. Within reach of Tokyo by bullet train, Six Senses Myoko is poised to become a landmark anchor for the wider redevelopment of this historic Japanese mountain destination.
