Six Senses Myoko

Six Senses Myoko is a slopeside luxury mountain hotel and branded residence project by Singapore-based Patience Capital Group with IHG Hotels & Resorts, set in the Suginosawa district of Myoko in Japan's Niigata Prefecture at the foot of Mount Myoko within the Suginohara ski resort. Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates with Kume Sekkei around a Golden Wind concept intended to restore the mountain's lost foothill landscape, the seven-story, roughly 27,000-square-meter building holds 57 rooms and suites, many with private onsen fed by the region's natural hot springs, and 21 Six Senses branded residences on the upper floors. Guests and owners share a Six Senses Spa, two restaurants, a bar and a ski boutique with fitting services, positioning the property as a year-round wellness and alpine lifestyle destination rather than a winter-only ski hotel. The hotel anchors the first phase of Patience Capital Group's roughly 300-hectare, 200-billion-yen redevelopment of the Myoko Kogen region across Niigata and Nagano prefectures, an effort aimed at re-establishing one of Japan's historic ski areas as an international mountain destination on the scale of Kitzbuhel or Gstaad.
