About the project

Soudah Peaks is a Public Investment Fund destination spread across roughly 630 square kilometres of the Sarawat range in Saudi Arabia's Aseer region, developed by Soudah Development on the cloud-wreathed summit of Jabal Soudah, at 3,015 metres the highest ground in the Kingdom. The masterplan is deliberately light-touch, concentrating construction on a small fraction of the site and setting aside roughly a quarter of the land for conservation, with commitments to protect more than 200 documented heritage sites and plant a million trees. Six distinct districts give the destination its structure: Tahlal, the arrival hub of upscale dining, shopping and conference space framed by Sarawat mountain views; Sahab, a clifftop adventure quarter built around paragliding and extreme sport; Sabrah, a southern plateau given over to spa, meditation and wellness retreats; Jareen, an agritourism district of terraced farms and heritage hiking trails; Rijal, which weaves the destination into the region's historic stone villages; and Red Rock, a parkland zone for glamping and equestrian pursuits. The build-out is planned around roughly 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residences and 80,000 square metres of retail, alongside an 18-hole golf course, cable cars and a network of zip-lines, mountain-biking and riding trails. Juniper forests, escarpment fog and average temperatures near 20°C give the destination a cool alpine character rare on the Arabian Peninsula, and the architecture across all six zones draws on the mud-and-stone building traditions of Aseer.
