Official WebsiteThe Gigabay is a massive Starship integration and refurbishment facility under construction at SpaceX's Roberts Road site inside Kennedy Space Center on Florida's Space Coast. Standing 380 feet tall with more than 815,000 square feet of workspace across multiple levels, the building is engineered to process both the Starship vehicle and its Super Heavy booster — the two stages of the most powerful rocket ever built — and will feature 24 work cells for vehicle integration and refurbishment along with cranes rated to lift up to 400 US tons. It mirrors the massive integration building SpaceX is completing at its Starbase headquarters in Texas, and serves as the industrial-scale processing hub needed to support a high launch cadence from Florida. The Gigabay is the centerpiece of a roughly $1.8 billion SpaceX expansion across Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station that also includes converting the historic Launch Complex 39A and building new pads at Space Launch Complex 37, with the company committing to create at least 600 full-time jobs in the state by 2030. Site preparation began in 2025, with the facility targeted to become operational by the end of 2026. SpaceX is also planning a co-located Starship production factory at Roberts Road, projected to be roughly 50% larger than the current Starfactory in Texas.
