The Clayfield

The Clayfield is a 102-room boutique hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and the second Canadian property in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. It was created by two local families, the Feldbergs of Stratus Vineyards and the Hawleys behind the Clayfield Commons development, and is managed by Urgo Hotels Canada. Montreal-based Sid Lee Architecture shaped the curved building around references to the Niagara Escarpment and the surrounding vineyards, using vertical timber, natural stone, oak and broad expanses of glass. The hotel anchors Clayfield Commons, a new mixed-use neighbourhood of independent shops, restaurants and a public green, and houses Terrain restaurant, a lobby bar, The Rooftop terrace, a full-service spa and more than 5,400 square feet of event space.
