Torch Cay occupies the largest privately owned island in the Bahamas, a 707-acre cay east of Little Exuma at the southern end of the Exuma chain. Its centerpiece is an 18-hole Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw layout tipping out at 7,020 yards, routed with eight interior holes and ten running to the shoreline, a configuration the designers believe yields the greatest number of seaside greensites in golf, complete with an overwater halfway house. Alongside the championship course sit a seven-hole short course and a putting course, an 81-slip marina and channel with an adjoining marina village, and 224 residential lots threaded through the interior and along the water. A boutique hotel and overwater bungalows anchor the hospitality side, joined by a golf clubhouse, spa and sports pavilion, equestrian facilities, agricultural land and a series of engineered beaches. A 6,000-foot private runway with customs and immigration clearance handles light, midsize and heavy private aircraft, putting the island within direct reach from abroad.
