Viceroy Los Cabos

Viceroy Los Cabos sits on the beach in the Zona Hotelera of San Jose del Cabo, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Baja California desert. Conceived by Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragones and originally opened as Hotel Mar Adentro, the property is organized as a set of stark white rectilinear volumes set into shallow reflecting pools known as the water mirrors, which carry the architecture out toward the shoreline. At its center sits Nido, a latticed nest-like dining pavilion that appears to float on the water. The resort carries 194 rooms and suites, a beachfront pool, a spa and a collection of restaurants and bars. A resort-wide renovation completed in 2026 restored the water mirrors to Aragones original color concept, reworked the arrival sequence and main lobby, and expanded the food and beverage program.
